Dippers: A fabulous little bird typical of mountain streams esprcially in the Lake District, Exmoor and Derbyshire: here the fast running water allows a rich diversity of aquatic invertebrates for these active birds to feed on. Easy to see as they frequently stand on stones in the centre of the stream flashing their white bibs as they bob or dip up and down, they are however  quite tricky to photograph as ideally you need to be at low level in early morning light in a rocky mountain stream. A camera setting with really high ISO capabilty helps ! Some of these images are at 12800 ISO! Also the Grey wagtail: usually found in close proximity to Dippers.
