Red Kite (Milvus milvus): back in the 1970s when I was a school boy fascinated by birds of prey the thought of ever seeing a red  kite was a remote almost impossibility : resricted in the Uk to a few pairs in remote areas of Wales this bird has since been succesfully reintroduced to the Uk and is now a common site in the Chilterns. The Welsh stronghold has also built up its population and the feeding station at Giggrin is a guaranteed place to see these dramatic raptors  in spectacular aerial displays.  Latest images (2018) from a day out in the Chilterns.
