Red Fox, (Vulpes vulpes)
One of my favourite wildlife photography subjects. As far as I am concerned there are two kinds of red fox, the urban fox, easy to approach and often so habituated to humans they can be literally touched and the wildly different country fox, which having been hunted and persecuted for thousands of years remains secretive and wild and requires time and patience to photograph. Following are a selection of both kinds of this wonderful animal.

Prowling, night shot urban fox

Fox cubs even at this young age are wary and difficult to approach. I was lucky to catch this one napping and waited for him to wake up. He quickly became aware of the camera shutter sound, even in quiet mode !

An urban fox still retains her hunting abilities!
