Snow bunting (Plectrophenax nivalis)

During my many visites to the Cairngorms national park, I have always kept an eye out for this beautiful lttle birds which are well known to visit the Car parks surrounding ski stations where they feed on pic nic scraps left by the skiiers. Occasionally the snow conditions are just right to capture them in their winter plumage and the environment that gives them their name.  A delightful little bird with such delicate and beautiful markings that make them so photogenic!
